FROM PAST TO PRESENT

Located just a few kilometers from Pienza, a UNESCO World Heritage site, Fabbrica is in a setting of rare beauty.

The new cellar is perfectly integrated in to this land, surrounded by century old olive trees standing proudly against the blue sky and alongside visible traces of an ancestral vineyard.

A MODERN AND FUNCTIONAL WINERY

The winery is located close to the main house, surrounded entirely by vineyards. The hand-harvested grapes arrive in the cellar, where they are selected by hand and vinified. The wines are then oak-aged and bottled here. The winery is also the place where we offer our unique wine tour and tastings.

A VOCATION

Based in Siena, about 50km north of here, the consultant agronomist and winemaker Maurizio Saettini fell madly in love with Fabbrica Pienza. He is passionate about the history of these vineyards and believes profoundly in their potential.

To make the Fabbrica project come to life our team works every day in the vineyards and in the cellar.

Alongside the owners and oenologist Maurizio Saettini, our Cellar Master Michele also oversees work in the vineyards where, depending on the season, between three to six people work full time. A team destined to grow in the future.

HARVEST

For a cantina like Fabbrica the grape harvest remains one of the highlights of the year. Depending on the weather and grape varieties, harvest is more or less late, the dates of the harvest are never the same from one year to another. All our wines since 2013, our very first vintage, are organic. Since 2016 they are officially certified so.

OLIVE OIL

At Fabbrica estate there are many olive trees of differing cultivars, including Frantoiano, Moraiolo, Leccino, Correggiolo, Oriolo. Evocative, lyrical names. It is not only the aesthetic aspect of these trees, with beautiful leaves of two colors (dark green on the upper side, silver on the underside), that caught the attention of the Bertherats, but also their potential.
